We are so excited to see you all here in the library!!  We have so many new books to share and various other activities to illustrate we are indeed the HEART of the school!!  Below are a few things to keep in mind:

1. Advisory:  You MUST sign up before block 1 in order to have access to the Library during advisory.  If you have not signed up, you will need to return to your advisory class.
2. Lunch:  If you want to eat lunch in the library, we will be happy to see you!  However, you MUST get a pass from us BEFORE you go to the cafeteria.  If you don't come and get a pass, you will have to return to the cafeteria.  
3. Summer Reading:  I hate to say this, but there are some students who still have NOT gotten their Summer Reading books!  They will be in the guidance office until next week.  You will need to see Anna in the guidance office in order to be assigned a book and grab the paperwork to go with it.  Our school-wide book discussion day is on Sept. 14th so you still have a few weeks to read!
4. Mrs. Trepanier and I want to welcome you and to encourage you to be respectful of the space.  This means picking up after yourselves, pushing your chairs in when you leave, and being kind.  
5. Have a wonderful year!!  Stop by and say hi!

Selections for the 2023 summer reading program are up and ready to go!!!  Above you will click on the 2023 SRP link and then click on the book image.  It will bring you to a webpage with all the information to make an informed choice.  Not sure which to choose??  Ask Ms. Smith and she will direct you to one that is right for you.  As always, come to the library to see for yourself the books in person and browse!!  Below are a few of my favorites.  Happy Picking!

Welcome to the 2022-2023 School Year!

The SHS Library is open for business and we have LOTS of new ideas just waiting to be reviled!  We also have lots of new titles to choose from!  Below are a few examples.  Check back soon for new updates.  

It is that time of year again to think about Summer Reading!!  I am very excited about this year's selection and am excited for everyone to see which books are offered this year and which book groups will fill up quickly!!  Here are some examples of our new books this year:

Now that the library is open, we are excited to have you come back and enjoy the new renovated space.  We are a smaller crew, but we are mighty and ready to serve you and your educational needs.  Below are a few examples of the various services we continue to provide for you.  

• A new and improved Destiny experience.  Now you can log in with your Google school email and browse, request/hold books and renew your overdue books!  Plus the visual is easier to navigate.
• New ebooks and audiobooks you can read and listen to in the browser of your device!  
• Access to new FREE and improved databases.  Ask your teacher for the passwords!
• SWANK!  A streaming service that allows teachers to assign movies to students through their Google Classrooms.
• Loner Chromebooks for students who have broken, lost, or forgotten devices.  Just come on down during class in order to pick it up!
• A new and improved Book Club that not only targets students literacy, but targets their SEL as well through games, discussions, and other activities.  
• We have an assortment of GAMES for students and Advisories to use and play.
• Our Book Collection has grown the past year with many new and exciting titles from Fiction, non-Fiction, and Graphic Novels.  Come and check them out!

These are just a FEW if the new and exciting things happening in the library.  Be on the look out for more information in the coming weeks for various fun and exciting mindful activities to inspire and motivate you all to create!
